Same-Day Flowers in Fort Lauderdale: What Your Local Florist Needs From You (and When)
Written by DGM Flowers Co.
If you need flowers delivered in Fort Lauderdale today, order before 2 PM, Monday through Friday. That's the same-day cutoff at DGM Flowers. Orders after 2 PM go out the next delivery day. Saturday has no same-day. For a Saturday delivery, order by Friday. On Sunday we only do funerals and select events, and those are set up by phone.
That's the short version. The rest of this guide covers what decides whether a rush order lands well: the address details drivers need, the hospital rules that catch people out, and which arrangements make sense when you're short on time.
We're DGM Flowers Co., an independent Fort Lauderdale florist. Every arrangement is designed in our own studio here and hand-delivered around Greater Fort Lauderdale. We don't pass your order to a wire service or a florist in another city.

What Time Will the Flowers Actually Show Up?
It depends on where they're going.
• Homes: we can't promise an exact time, but most deliveries are done by 4 PM.
• Offices and businesses: by 5 PM if you order by 2 PM.
• Schools: by 2:30 PM, before dismissal.
• Funerals and events: delivered for the scheduled time.
If the timing matters, like a surprise before someone leaves work, put it in the delivery notes at checkout. We read them.
Where We Deliver Around Fort Lauderdale
We deliver all over Fort Lauderdale, from Las Olas and Victoria Park to Coral Ridge and Rio Vista, plus the nearby cities: Wilton Manors, Oakland Park, Plantation, Lauderhill, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Pompano Beach, Tamarac, Sunrise and more. The full list of cities and ZIP codes is on our delivery area page.
The delivery fee depends on distance, and checkout shows the exact amount for your address before you pay. Some sites build delivery into a "free delivery" price. We show it as its own line.
We're delivery-only. There's no counter for walk-in pickup, because we design out of a private studio. You don't lose anything there: the person who designs your arrangement works a few miles from where it's going, and our drivers do these routes every day.
Five Details That Make a Same-Day Order Go Smoothly
Rush orders rarely go wrong because of the flowers. They go wrong because of the address. Here's what we wish every sender knew.
1. Condos and High-Rises Need the Building Name and Unit
A beachside tower with a front desk is a different delivery from a house in Coral Ridge. Give us the building name, the unit number, and whether a concierge can sign. If it's a gated community, add the gate code or the name of whoever can let us in.
2. Tell Us Where to Leave It Out of the Sun
If nobody's home, our driver will leave the flowers somewhere safe or set up another delivery. In South Florida, "somewhere safe" should also mean shaded. A note like "back patio, under the overhang" helps more than you'd expect. Most flowers last longer in cool spots. Our flower care guide explains why windowsills and full sun shorten a bouquet's life.
3. Call the Hospital Unit Before You Send Flowers
We deliver to the hospitals around here, including Broward Health Medical Center, Holy Cross and Broward Health Imperial Point. Each hospital sets its own rules, though. ICUs have kept flowers out for decades, and some hospitals now restrict them in step-down, cardiac, pediatric and labor-and-delivery units too (Becker's Hospital Review). Many have banned latex balloons. A two-minute call to the nurses' station saves you a wasted gift.
Patients also go home earlier than planned. One customer told us a family member was "discharged early," and we were able to move the delivery to their home. If plans change, call us the moment you find out.
4. Write the Card Message First
It sounds backwards, but deciding what the card says first tends to settle what you're sending: who it's from, how many people, and how the moment feels. Every order comes with a free handwritten card. If you can't be there in person, checkout also lets you upload a short video message.
5. If They Have a Cat, Skip the Lilies
True lilies are toxic to cats. According to the FDA, the petals, leaves, pollen, and even the vase water can cause fatal kidney failure in a cat within three days. Several popular arrangements, ours included, use lilies. If you know there's a cat at home, tell us in the florist instructions or pick a lily-free design from the list below.
What to Order When You're Short on Time
The best same-day choice is usually the one that gives the designer the most freedom. When you need the flowers today, the freshest stems in the cooler matter more than matching a photo exactly. Here's how we'd decide, with prices as listed on our site on Oct 13, 2026. (Prices start at the amounts shown. Larger sizes cost more.)
When Freshness Matters More Than an Exact Look
• Flowers Deal of the Day, from $49.95. Our designer builds it from whatever we have most of that day. You can't customize it, and that's why it works for rush orders: nothing is waiting on a specific stem.
• Designer's Choice Bouquet, from $49.00. Similar idea, but you can name colors or a style in the florist instructions and we'll design to your budget.
When You Want Something Unmistakably South Florida
• Tropical Saunter Bouquet, from $74.95. Birds-of-paradise, pincushion protea, dendrobium orchids, green button mums and orange lilies. Tropicals are what we do best, and this is the one we'd send to someone who just moved here or is visiting. (It contains lilies. See the cat note above.)
• Bright Blue Dendrobium Orchids, from $69.95. Cut orchids in a bold blue, no lilies, and they last well.
Birthdays and Celebrations (No Lilies)
• Fiesta Bouquet, from $64.95. Carnations, gerbera daisies, roses and stock in bright colors.
• Fiesta Bouquet (Premium), from $119.95. Same design, built to about 17" tall by 16" wide. Choose this one for an office lobby or a big reception desk, where a small bouquet gets lost.
• Sweet & Pretty Bouquet, from $44.95. Hot pink roses and pale pink alstroemeria in a glass cylinder vase. A good everyday gift that doesn't feel small.
Softer and Classic
• French Market Bouquet, from $69.95. Roses, stock and carnations in pastels. It suits get-well, thank-you, new-baby and sympathy cards equally well. If you're unsure, this is a safe choice.
• Bowl of Joy, from $59.95. A glass bubble bowl overflowing with flowers. It's low and wide, so it fits a bedside table or a kitchen counter.

Same-Day Sympathy Flowers: A Slower Kind of Rush
Funeral orders run on the service schedule, not our usual delivery window, so we deliver for the time of the service. Give us the funeral home, the service date and time, and the family's name. We read the ribbon or card wording back to you before it goes out.
For the service itself, browse our sympathy and funeral flowers. For the family's home, a basket or a plant is often easier for them than a vase that needs care. The Thinking of You Sympathy Basket (from $59.95) is all white roses, stargazer lilies, waxflower and daisies. The large Peace Lily Plant (from $59.95, about 40" tall) lasts long after the cut flowers are gone. Standing sprays, easel pieces and casket sprays take more planning, so call us for those, especially on a Sunday.
Is a Local Fort Lauderdale Florist Worth It Over a National Site?
For same-day orders, yes. The reason is practical, not sentimental. A national site has to find a shop near the recipient and pass your order along. When we take an order, we design it here, our drivers deliver it, and you deal with the same people from start to finish. You get email updates when the order is confirmed and when it's out for delivery, and again if there's a delivery attempt and when it's done. If something needs to change, like an early hospital discharge, you call the people who actually have your flowers.
To check that a shop is really local, call the number and ask what time the same-day cutoff is for the recipient's ZIP code. A real local florist can answer right away.
Here's one honest catch. If the photo shows a one-of-a-kind vase or a seasonal bloom, a same-day version may not match it exactly. Our substitution policy keeps the style, theme and colors, and we only swap in items of equal or higher value. If one flower is the whole point, like her wedding peonies or his favorite color, say so in the florist instructions or call us first.
If You Send Flowers Every Month
If you're always ordering at the last minute for the same person, a flower subscription takes care of it. Choose weekly, every two weeks or monthly. You're billed five days before each delivery, and you can pause or cancel by calling us. Plans start at $54.95 for The Local Bloom Club, and we also offer The Signature Designer ($94.95–$149.95) and The Luxe Floral Experience ($174.95–$274.95).
